Meet Paul Kromann, Advisor – Travel Procurement
Has worked at TPE for 5 years
If we look at the travel department of TPE in isolation, it is very different from the rest of the industry. Because we are a member organisation, we do not have to make a profit the way a traditional call centre or travel agency does, and this is a very different way of thinking - and it makes a visible and noticeable difference in our daily operations”.

”However, this does not mean that there will not always be a certain amount of pressure when you are dealing with the travel industry. You must perform. And perform quickly, usually. It is therefore of the utmost important that we get along as co-workers. It is both easier and certainly a lot more fun to perform when you are thriving and there is a nice working spirit. In many ways we are the engine behind each other’s success. We spar with each other and discuss good ideas. We make each other better and stronger as a team, and I have noticed this since starting here in 2017. I also noticed it during the COVID-19 pandemic where the market took a nose dive. And I now notice it once more in the wake of corona where we are once again very busy and therefore need more colleagues”.
”TPE is a workplace where we to a large extent are in charge of our own workday - whether we are at the office, located in Copenhagen which makes it easy to get to and is a perfect location in my opinion, or if we are working from home. As long as phones are being answered and tasks are solved, there is a lot of flexibility and freedom, and we are excellent at helping each other out and pulling together”.
”As a member organisation we are not run by profit, but we must still admit that at the moment we are under pressure workwise. Before the pandemic there were 8 employees in the offline department, and today there are only 5 of us - so we all have several balls in the air. But we are an amazing team with good chemistry and we are good at talking to each other. But it will mean a lot to us to get more colleagues because we are running full steam on all engines right now”.
I highly recommend working at TPE. In general I think the travel industry is an exciting world where you learn a lot and that you can not help but get caught up in. At the same time, it is one of TPE’s strengths that we are a small local company – and yet with a large and global network. This results in vision and room for differences. Furthermore, I am lucky to have a workday full of fun, positive and helpful colleagues which almost feels like family even though we do not associate outside of work”.
