“I think that employees at TPE are generally asked their opinion on new initiatives. I appreciate being included because this shows me that my work is appreciated"
Britta Iversen, Finansafdelingen
Britta started working at TPE October 10th 1994.
”I came to TPE in 1994 and I think it is as interesting today as I did then. Working at TPE is never boring and I have a say in what goes on here.”
What do you do at TPE?
"You could say that I handle all money related affairs. Some tasks I work on together with my colleagues in the finance department, while other tasks I am in charge of and handle myself, such as balancing the books, payments and invoicing.
No two work days are alike. If I try to lay out a schedule for the day, I am rarely able to stick to it, because a challenge or an unforeseen task can present itself and I will then need to deal with that, and that requires a bit of restructuring.
In your opinion, what characterises TPE best?
"Working at TPE is never boring and as an employee here you have to be flexible and enterprising. It is also a plus if you are not afraid of trying new things. I like that.
At TPE you also need to be willing to give a little bit of yourself. You have to take charge and want to be a driving force in developing TPE further. You have to make things happen and not simply sit down and wait for things to happen. You need to get more involved than you would at a workplace where perhaps the structure is not as free and flexible.
What is the best part about working at TPE?
“I like the diversity of the questions that people approach me with.Much is expected of me, and this is both very conducive and very challenging. Once you are here, you find out that you are actually much more capable than you thought you were. This is one of the best things about being here.
I think that employees at TPE are generally asked their opinion on new initiatives. I appreciate being included because this shows me that my work is appreciated, and it also makes me feel a certain ownership of the tasks.”
What is the most important thing you have learned while working at TPE?
Ever since my first day here it was expected of me that I would be able to do the tasks I was presented with – so I did! This also applies to the tasks that I might have been a bit apprehensive about because I was not sure I would be able to do them. And once you have taken the plunge it just gets more and more fun. In a company like TPE it is also important that you are not afraid to step up and give a little bit of yourself so that your co-workers know they can depend on you".
